Being an Army Wife..

Mr M works for one of the military agencies and i always knew it won't be easy being his wife  because from day one, he never hid how busy or serious his job can be and I always thought oh well, I can definitely cope because I actually don't like to be choked by my partner. But lately I realized being an army wife is actually more difficult than you can imagine.
   Firstly, there is long distance you have to cope with almost every single day and even when he is close, you still have to cope with him working late and sometimes not coming home at all.. Another aspect I don't enjoy about this life is the panic and fear that grips you everytime that He tells you honey, we are going for an operation or something like that 😱. You start praying all the prayers in the world to God to keep him safe and then you pray he isn't transferred to a war zone or some place where you won't be able to talk to him. The last thing that kills me the most is not being able to even plan special days or events together because he can't just leave his job for you like that... He has to protect his father's land so that means most times, you are second on the list of important things. I honestly think women married to men in the uniform deserve to paid an emotional allowance because without our calmness,support and prayers... The country might not be that safe.....i mean just imagine all the wives revolting and deciding that today we want to frustrate our men. I tell you there would be so many accidental discharge wahala on our streets. Being an Army wife means you have to be stronger than him emotionally and spiritually.,it means knowing that your man won't be there for birthdays, graduations, anniversaries and the likes but still loving him regardless...Being an Army wife means being ready to drop all that you are doing to go be there for your man... It means going to bed most times on your own with only the TV or Radio as your company...It requires that you can fix some things yourself and being able to take charge because the man of the house is You most times.....Being an army wife is hard but then It is the life I chose 😐.....did someone just ask are there good sides? Of course there is but I would write about that tomorrow.... Till then Stay safe and love hard.....regardless of the job

Basic Things I would like to do.....

There are some things that are very basic or look like nothing to some people but for me S a big deal because I haven't tried or done it yet.... Some because I don't have the money and some because the opportunity just hasn't presented itself... Here goes my own list...

   

• Going to the Cinema: I love to watch movies nd I have always dreamt of going to the cinemas and going out to see a movie but truth is this hasn't happened till now.  Twice I got free tickets but I just couldn't drag myself to get the cinema..  I remember the time The wedding Party movie came out and I wanted to watch it so badly and Mr M promised to take me to the cinema to see it but somehow got caught up with work we missed it. I turned it into a fight because I was so disappointed but he made up for it though just not with a movie date 😶...

 

• Elevators and lifts: For some reason I would really like to find myself on one of these someday.. I have just never found myself in a place or building with any of these and would really like to have the feeling of being on mine... I might end up breaking myself out of excitement but I don't mind and can't wait...

   

• Being on a plane: when people say why not just book a flight or I have a flight or I can't wait to be on first class, I just look at them like some of us have never even being on a plane in the dream sef ...chai. well,  it's hasn't happened majorly because I don't have that much money for plane ticket yet... I know 8hours in a bus for a journey is stressful but when you don't hve 30thousand naira to buy a ticket.... The bus journey because educational...i would love to fly in a plane one day, experience turbulence, look down and see beautiful scenes from several feets above and also take a dozen pictures I might not  post to make people know I have arrived.😁...

     

            
• Pizza,  Pizza,  Pizza.: I am not your typical food and I might never try seafood or snake meat but I can't wait to try pizza. I don't know if it is because I have seen so much of it in movies and on the food network but I just want to have a taste to see if this almighty PIZZA is as delicious as everyone says..

• Travelling out of NIGERIA : If travelling in the dreams is counted as travelling then I have gone to Paris, Ghana, and the Gambia... I love travelling to all this fun places but I have just never been that lucky yet. I would also really like to go with Mr M... A romantic getaway with my husband is just the perfect..... Can't find the words but that is something I would like to do some time very soon. 

Just imagine being at the very top... Bliss

World Radio Day...

Today is world Radio day and because I am such a big radio fan and addict....I Am writing about the top 5 reasons why I love the radio... 

1. Radio to me is like a happy drug. Most especially if it is a more talk less music radio station. It is the number reason why my favourite dial is Nigerian info 99.3Fm in Lagos. Listening to someone make alot of sense on Radio makes me feel like I have this best friend that understands me and is willing to just be my happy space 24/7 .

2. The information you get on radio isn't like the regular ones on TV. It is short and precise making sure not to waste your time but also enough to entertain you and makes sure you get the right knowledge required... 

3. There is always variety on the radio. If you find yourself in a place like Lagos, portharcout, Abuja or Kano as a radio addict YPU would be like a child in a candy store as you won't be able to get over the amount of channels and the options you can choose from. This feature of the radio makes me like it so much I can't control myself when am in these

states. 

4. Even though I am not a big fan of music being played in radio stations. It is still your number one source for getting to listen to new and beautiful songs you didn't know existed...and even the random instrumentals used just have a way of getting stuck into your head. 

5. People who call in to a radio station can be so funny and crazy sometimes that you find your crappy day turn so good just by listening to them chat with presenter on duty. From those who miss the whole point of the show, to those who just want to say hi to the presenter, there is also the set of people who seem to make so much sense YPU just want to kiss them... Are you a radio fan or addict?  What do you love most about the radio?  Care to share?... 

They say it's love Day......

I am not a big fan of valentines day because i cant remember having any memorable one or getting any gifts and then i realized in my religion it was even prohibited to celebrate it sef. So i just stopped seeing it as anything special or important but since some might want to celebrate and might not know how? i would be helping by sharing a few things i think you can do for Significant other without breaking the bank.

1. Prepare a homemade Meal for your wife/Take him Out :  As a man you can decide to wipe up something for your wife in the kitchen on this special day if you can cook. It would super nice if you could do this for all the meals of the day but if you can't you can pick just one of the meal of the day to treat her to.If you can't cook to save your life though you can call it an off kitchen day and decide to get takeout for the whole family. Doing this for her would really make her happy nad also give her time to refresh.. For the MRS, you can either decide to make the meals you make on this day extra special or spice it with garnishes and dressings or favorites you dont make daily or regularly...

 2.  Change the routine : If it is usually the MR's job to get the feel for the generator or if you know he wakes up early, just to get his shoe polished or clea

n his car.. As a Valentine's Day gift you the mrs could decide to help him out with that. Also if it is madam's job to wake up early just to make sure the kids are ready for school or take them to school or get foodstuff from the market. You as the husband could decide to help out with that and relieve her the stress as a good val's day gift.
3. Give a massage: After a stressful day of work,  nothing says I care about more than a massage from someone you love and on a Valentine's Day?,  that's just just super cute in my dictionary. To make it special ficus on those points that you wouldn't think about on a normal day. Places like the feet, the hands and the head. It would help your partner be relieved from stress and if you are lucky to be alone, you can set the mood with some candle light and music and might even finish off with getting some later 😉 ....
   

4. Write a love letter : This days,even though people are writing more and sending messages every second,we all are relying on technology to help us write better and also deliver it. While there is nothing wrong with this, there is also something special that comes with picking up a pen and paper and just pouring out your feelings for that special someone. It doesn't have to be an epistle or textbook. It could just a line but the fact you are writing it and not just texting it or sending it as a chat message makes it super sweet. You can also go a step further by putting it in a place they would easier find and read.eithwr in their trouser pockets,handbags,lunchboxes,pillows etc...

    So get creative and think outside of the box for some good old tender loving care this Valentine's Day.

Monday Motivation ....Crush it.

A new working week comes with its own challenges and problems. Therefore it is important to have the right attitude and focus as to what you want to achieve and get from it. I am starting mine by making a very big decision to quit a job i love so as to focus more on my family and also having baby. These are major life decisions and i know that it wont be easy coping with the outcome and effects of it but am willing to try. So go into the new week afraid but willing to try, scared but ready to move after all what is life without a few ups and downs every now and then....Have a fantastic Monday and also remember to CRUSH/SMASH it.

                                              

Fashion Update

I am always happy to play dress up and since my shift at the radio station was moved from the Night show to Afternoon show.  I decided to rock most of my outfits I didn't have the time and occasion to and as usual I like to show you how much of a fashionista I have evolved into since I last wrote.

It was a Friday and my colleagues said I looked like a new bride... 

I got the dress from my sister in law as a gift and the glasses from my friend's school daughter.

On the job looking as cute as I can.. 

I saw this dress inspiration on instagram and asked my designer friend @kay_llectionTo get me a similar skirt and she delivered.. 

I love kimonos and my designer friend @kay_llection also supplies me with the best and I loved this print so I bought it and also I  finally bought a straight skirt I have been wanting for years so I paired them....

B. Tech Certified.....

Frustration under tension is what some students nicknamed my university..So you can imagine the joy of having scaled through lots of assignments, tests, quizzes, exams and the almighty project to be called a graduate of federal university of technology Minna,Niger state. It is not just a privilege but a great honour to have spent 5yrs studying in the University and graduating with a 2.1 degree and a 4.04grade point. I was super excited to attend my convocation not because of the ceremony itself but because I couldn't wait to see my certificate. The proof of my many sleepless nights and tears... So the journey began with having to first carry out the very compulsory school clearance which due to the strike by the National Association of Non-Teaching Staff Union (NASU)  was hectic and took almost a week to complete. So on the convocation day armed with my younger ones and my convocation gown, we made our way to the venue of the ceremony. I already promised myself that I wont be taking pictures with the photographers on ground so I came prepared with my selfie stick to capture as much as I could and I must say it was such a joy to finally behold that paper  Certificate... Enjoy some moments captured using my infinix hot note 4pro and my selfie stick.
